Cake Decorating

I've been having a lot of fun taking the Wilton Cake Decorating Classes. I'm currently taking the fondant class, which is by far my favourite. It's actually incredibly easy using fondant and it's the easiest to make compared to buttercream and royal icing.

For my last class, this was my final cake...

I also was experimenting with cake recipes and flavourings for buttercream frosting. I made some mint-chocolate cupcakes last weekend and they were so yummy!

I've been baking Christmas goodies too... shortbread, belgium cookies, macaroons... and we made our gingerbread house last week. Both cats were pretty interested.

It's been a long day of crafting and baking... night!

I used to take cake decorating too. Tonnes of fun. Your cake looks lovely!
I learned fondant on my own and found it way easier than piping. It's also really quite easy to make your own fondant and it tastes way better!

I must say your decorating skills is very good. I have done some classes my self but I must say it looks much easier than what it is.
I do have a few pic's on my blog if you would like to take a peek. www.babycakeideas.com

Congrats on a job well done.

Thanks so much! I'm still learning. But I think my final fondant cake for class is going to be awesome... at least I hope so!

Tonight, I actually tried Duff fondant tonight in class and it tastes like cotton candy ^_^
